Position Overview
The testers need the ‘generic’ knowledge for automation testers e.g. Java, CI/CD, BDD, Cucumber, Selenium etc., but also need a focus on the following:
Responsibilities
- Automated testing of deployments to cloud environments (e.g. AWS, EKS) through pipelines
- Improving the quality of infrastructure deployments through automated testing – reducing issues arising after deployment
- Testing the actual instance/infrastructure itself rather than just the application that is being deployed
- Testing instances to ensure they have been deployed correctly and are working as expected
- Chaos testing of deployments/instances to ensure they behave as expected if an instance goes down for some reason
- Define the approach for test infrastructure setup and use outputs to drive technical improvements
- Communicate with other teams and share technical resources, knowledge and lessons learned (with regard to testing automation)
- Use Terraform and appropriate testing tools such as Kitchen
