Collaboration Tooling Engineer (AWS & Atlassian Stack Specialist)

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Collaboration Tooling Engineer with extensive experience in managing, scaling, and ensuring high availability (HA) of the Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) on AWS. The ideal candidate will focus on administrative tasks, system upgrades, and operational scalability rather than internal configuration or development. This role requires a strong technical foundation in AWS and Atlassian products, with an emphasis on maintaining robust, scalable, and reliable systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Atlassian Stack Administration:
Oversee the day-to-day administration of Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
Perform system upgrades, patches, and performance optimizations.
Ensure the Atlassian stack is running at optimal performance with minimal downtime.
High Availability & Scalability:
Design and implement HA solutions for the Atlassian stack to ensure system reliability.
Monitor and manage system capacity to support scalability for growing teams and projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve system bottlenecks or performance issues.
AWS Management:
Deploy and manage Atlassian stack infrastructure on AWS, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Utilize AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.) to maintain system reliability and performance.
Implement disaster recovery and backup solutions for critical systems.
Automation & Scripting:
Automate repetitive administrative tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or custom scripts.
Create and maintain scripts for monitoring, backups, and deployment pipelines.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support collaboration workflows.
Document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience managing the Atlassian stack, particularly Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket, in a large-scale environment.
Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure best practices.
Expertise in HA, disaster recovery, and system scalability for Atlassian tools.
Proficient in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certification.
AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
Knowledge of ITIL or similar frameworks for incident and change management.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
