You’ll be providing leadership support, guidance, and oversight to a team of four subject matter experts – working on specific surveillance and research projects. Whilst self-directed, with a strong focus on delivery, the team will welcome a leader to be the first port-of-call to bounce ideas with, collaborate and help with juggling priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of AMR experts to deliver new and existing evidence outcomes.
  • Oversee AMR surveillance and research programmes, ensuring high-quality data informs policy and intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with external partners and government stakeholders, strengthening the UK’s AMR surveillance network.
  • Shape and drive the AMR research programme, identifying evidence needs and delivering actionable insights.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in a relevant scientific or veterinary field.
  • An understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and its significance as a One Health issue.
  • Experience leading and managing teams, providing motivation and direction.
  • A track record of delivering outcomes through collaboration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The benefits of this assignment

  • Play a key leadership role in a national initiative addressing one of the biggest global health challenges.
  • Work alongside expert colleagues and cross-governmental teams.
  • Enjoy a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your leadership makes a real impact.
