Featured in The Times’ Best Law Firms 2024 list, our client is looking for a Solicitor to work within their Private Wealth team in the Woking office. The Private Wealth Team primarily serves high-net-worth individuals and handles a wide variety of private client matters.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lifetime and Succession Planning: Assisting clients in planning for the future, addressing wealth transfer and protection.
  • Advising on Will Structures: Helping clients develop comprehensive estate planning strategies, including Wills.
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney: Providing guidance on creating powers of attorney to manage assets in the event of incapacity.
  • Trust Creation, Administration, and Winding Up: Advising on trust structures, managing trusts, and overseeing their termination.
  • Estate Administration: Supporting clients with the administration of estates following a death.
  • Client Meetings: Regularly meeting with clients to provide advice on the above areas.
  • Supervising Junior Team Members: Mentoring and guiding junior colleagues to help develop their legal expertise and skills.

This role offers an opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in a variety of high-value matters while playing a key role in the development of junior staff. What are we looking for?

  • Private Wealth/ Client Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience managing a caseload of private client matters, demonstrating proficiency in areas such as estate planning, trust administration, and advising high-net-worth individuals.
  • STEP Qualification: While not essential, being STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualified is desirable, as it reflects expertise in trust and estate law.
  • Management Responsibilities: Previous experience with mentoring or supervising junior team members is highly valued. However, if you don't currently have this experience but are open to taking on these responsibilities, that could also be a good fit for the role.
