Are you an experienced customer service professional who can combine genuine empathy with the ability to work at pace? We're recruiting two Customer Service Coordinators to join a busy, purpose-led organisation providing essential services to people across Surrey.

This is a busy, people-focused role where you’ll handle a wide range of calls where no two conversations will necessarily be the same. You'll speak with a wide range of people, including service users, family members and professionals, some of whom may be contacting the service during difficult or sensitive circumstances.

You'll need to be someone who can make people feel heard, respected and cared for, while confidently managing conversations and working efficiently within a busy call environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Handling a high volume of inbound telephone calls
  • Making outbound calls when required
  • Responding to queries professionally, sensitively and efficiently
  • Coordinating and processing service requests and orders
  • Checking information and identifying errors or discrepancies
  • Accurately updating internal systems and records
  • Completing general administration to support the wider operation
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Working as part of a close-knit team to meet service levels and respond to busy periods

What we're looking for:

  • Previous call centre or contact centre experience would be desirable but not essential, particularly if you're accustomed to high call volumes and working to SLAs.
  • More importantly, we're looking for someone who brings the right combination of confidence, empathy and personality.
  • You'll need:
    • Strong telephone-based customer service experience
    • A warm, empathetic and professional communication style
    • The confidence to manage and sensitively control conversations
    • Strong attention to detail and accurate administration skills
    • An understanding of GDPR, confidentiality and handling sensitive information
    • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
    • A positive, team-focused attitude
    • Flexibility to occasionally adjust your working hours to support holiday or sickness cover

The environment:

This is a genuinely welcoming and supportive team with managers who are invested in helping the right people succeed. They recognise that everyone works and learns differently and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where individuals can be supported to develop and perform at their best.

The role can be demanding and fast-paced, but the work has a real purpose. You'll be part of a service that makes a tangible difference to people's everyday lives, with training designed to help you understand the wider impact of the work you do.

The wider service operates between 8am and 8pm, although these vacancies are specifically for the 9am–6pm shift, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility will be required to support the wider team when needed, and paid overtime may also be available.

This position will initially be offered on a three-month temporary basis, with the intention of progressing to a permanent role for successful candidates.

If you're looking for more than just another call centre role and want to join a supportive team where empathy, personality and teamwork genuinely matter, we'd love to hear from you.
