About Amber

Amber is an entirely new way of thinking about buying, banking and selling energy where home energy technology works to put money back in customers’ pockets and accelerate the renewable energy transition. We’re an Australian headquartered company, where we are both an energy technology company and a utility providing energy directly to households and small businesses. In Australia, we’ve proven that the cheapest, fastest and most rewarding way to reach 100% renewables is to automate the growing wave of home batteries, EVs, and other smart energy devices. Customers get direct access to real-time electricity prices and the technology to shift energy usage to times when cheaper renewables are available in the grid and export to the grid at times when the price they can be paid for it is highest. We are a clear market leader in energy automation in Australia, and are now partnering with utilities across Europe to bring our technology to European markets and consumers. We’re at a critical moment in taking the business to scale in Europe. You’ll be joining a rapidly growing regional team of more than 15 colleagues, and be part of a global team of over 150, with expertise across energy, technology, marketing, and operations. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world.

About the role

This role sits at the heart of Amber’s mission to accelerate the transition to 100% renewables. You will be joining a passionate, purpose-driven team where your work will have a direct impact on reshaping the energy industry and empowering customers to take control of their energy usage. As Strategic Account Manager, your mission will be building trusted, long-term relationships with our utility partners, maximising the value they - and their customers - achieve with Amber. Ultimately, you’ll be solving for account growth, retention and expansion.

This is a full-time role to be ideally based in the UK, but we are also open to considering the right candidate anywhere within mainland Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a portfolio of strategic utility accounts across Europe, serving as a primary point-of-contact and trusted advisor to client stakeholders from delivery teams to executive sponsors;
  • Lead end-to-end account strategy to ensure partners achieve consistent, measurable value from Amber from onboarding to renewal, while driving revenue growth for Amber;
  • Build and maintain multi-threaded relationships across executive, technical, operational, and procurement teams;
  • Lead client business reviews (EBRs/QBRs) focused on value realisation, ROI, and long-term partnership;
  • Monitor account health, proactively mitigate risk, and manage escalations to ensure retention and satisfaction;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Tech & Support teams to deliver business outcomes;
  • Drive alignment on strategy and progress with internal stakeholders including exec;
  • Act as the voice of the customer, influencing product direction and internal priorities;
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, account plans, and CRM documentation.

Key Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B SaaS account management, customer success, or enterprise sales
  • Background in either energy retail, SaaS, energy tech (e.g. EVs, emobility, residential batteries, solar PV) or similar industries with strong grasp on relevant trends and implications;
  • Proven track record managing and growing large, complex enterprise accounts ($ hundreds of thousand + ARR)
  • Experience leading complex renewals, expansions, and contract negotiations with procurement and legal teams
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage and influence C-level and VP-level stakeholders as well as motivating cross-functional teams to capture opportunities
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models, usage-based metrics, and customer lifecycle management
  • Highly skilled in cross-functional collaboration and navigating complex internal organisations
  • Data-driven, curious and structured mindset with experience using CRM, forecasting tools, and account health metrics
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment, with a strong bias towards action and motivated by outcomes and performance

Desirable

  • Experience working across time zones and cultures;
  • Second (or third) European language;
  • Relevant professional qualifications.

Benefits

  • We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world;
  • You’d be a part of a rapidly growing global team of over 150 shaping the future of household and grid energy use;
  • Flexible working hours and remote working;
  • Shares in Amber Electric;
  • Employment and leave entitlements as per your local country;
  • An external Employee Assistance Plan for mental health support;
  • Annual Learning & Development budget to support your personal growth;
