General Scope of the Post
The Senior Carer is responsible for the supervision of the service under direction of the Registered Manager in accordance with the policy and guidelines laid down by Amber Care (Lincolnshire) Ltd. This will include the close supervision of all the staff, efficient and effective day to day running of shifts and reviewing of care delivery in line with the service users' needs. You will be required to work flexibly on a rota basis to meet the needs of the service. This will include weekends and bank holidays.
Principle Duties
- The implementation of systems of working which enable CQC compliance, for example, providing evidence of how the service delivery meets the K.L.O.E.s.
- Meet Health and Safety legislative requirements, for example, risk identification, management and assessment.
- Supervise a team of carers in the delivery of care to the service users in line with the care plan. Anticipate the needs of the service users, monitor/review the effectiveness of the care plan, make changes as necessary in compliance with arrangements with the service user and manager, ensuring that the plan reflects changing circumstances and current objectives, working in line with CQC regulations and policies and procedures on record keeping.
- Inspire the team to promote service user's dignity, choice, rights and independence and ensure service users receive a quality service.
- Work within current national legislation and Amber Care's policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all medications administered are recorded, in line with written policies and procedures on drug administration.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults from abuse, recognising the signs of abuse and follow Amber Care's procedures in the event of an allegation of abuse.
