SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST

At Amber Beverage UK, we're looking for a commercially minded Supply Chain Specialist to become the driving force behind our supply chain operations.

The purpose of the Supply Chain Specialist role is to own and manage Amber Beverage UK's end-to-end supply chain planning and execution, ensuring the right products are available at the right time while optimising inventory levels and working capital.

The role is responsible for demand forecasting, purchasing, supplier performance, inventory management and inbound logistics, providing end-to-end accountability for stock availability across the business.

The role operates autonomously, owning day-to-day supply chain decisions within a delegated authority framework agreed with the Finance Director.

By working closely with Finance, Sales, Marketing and third-party logistics providers, the role supports commercial growth, strengthens supplier relationships, improves forecasting accuracy, drives continuous process improvement and ensures an efficient, resilient and cost-effective supply chain.

What kind of things will I be doing?

  • Supply Chain Ownership
  • Own the end-to-end supply planning process for Amber Beverage UK.
  • Develop and continuously improve the company's supply chain planning framework.
  • Ensure stock availability while optimising working capital investment.
  • Balance customer service levels against inventory holding costs.
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing and Finance to review assumptions and demand changes.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead monthly forecasting reviews with key stakeholders.
  • Inventory Optimisation
  • With the Finance Director help develop and implement inventory strategies to optimise stock holding; minimise obsolete stock; determine appropriate safety stock and implement reorder policies.
  • Monitor inventory health through KPI reporting.
  • Analyse slow-moving and excess stock and recommend commercial actions.
  • Supplier Performance Management
  • Own supplier relationships from a supply chain perspective.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews.
  • Manage supplier lead times, service levels and capacity planning.
  • Escalate supply risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Compliance & Regulatory
  • In conjunction with the Finance Director own the operational onboarding/exiting of new brands/SKUs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of licensing, documentation, and compliance procedures.
  • Procurement & Purchase Planning
  • Convert approved demand forecasts into procurement plans.
  • Raise and place purchase orders in line with the agreed inventory strategy and within delegated authority limits, with commitments above the agreed threshold approved by the Finance Director.
  • Monitor supplier order fulfilment.
  • Ensure purchasing decisions support both commercial objectives and cash flow.
  • Logistics & Distribution
  • Manage inbound international and internal logistics.
  • Coordinate imports with freight forwarders and bonded warehouses.
  • Monitor logistics costs and service performance.
  • Improve inbound supply chain efficiency.
  • Manage supply disruptions and contingency planning.
  • Finance Business Partnering
  • Provide Finance with rolling purchasing commitments and inventory forecasts.
  • Support cash flow forecasting.
  • Support gross margin reporting.
  • Support inventory valuation.
  • Contribute to month-end reporting.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • ERP & Data Governance
  • Own supply chain master data.
  • Ensure ERP integrity.
  • Lead improvements to planning systems.
  • Develop reporting dashboards.
  • Improve data quality across purchasing and inventory.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate supply chain processes.
  • Develop standard operating procedures.
  • Lead implementation of new planning tools.
  • Support digital transformation projects.
  • Introduce KPI reporting and performance measurement.

Essential Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in FMCG Supply Chain Planning, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimisation and procurement planning

  • Financial awareness and business partnering experience
