One of Scotland’s most historic and significant theatres, King’s Theatre Glasgow opened in 1904 and has played host to top stars and shows ever since. Well known for its Christmas pantomimes, it also provides Glasgow’s flourishing amateur groups with a high-profile stage. The theatre continues to present first class shows today from a wide range of genres. Our other Glasgow venue, Theatre Royal Glasgow, opened in 1867 and went through two fires before the turn of the century. Standing tall through thick and thin, the theatre has since presented a wide variety of productions covering all genres, including resident Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet. Featuring a Victorian auditorium, Theatre Royal presents first class entertainment.
This role is based at The King’s Theatre and the Theatre Royal, Glasgow. You’ll report to the Chief Electrician, Stage Manager, and Technical Manager. You will assist the department heads with the responsibility for the Technical Department’s casual team. You will have the opportunity to work alongside management and develop our backstage operations and help lead a team with many years of experience, who are skilled at what they do, but are also willing to adopt new ideas and practices. You’ll also work closely with the wider team in Glasgow to help ensure that we consistently offer an excellent experience to all our customers.
Please note this is a fixed-term position until 1st February 2026. This is a 39-hour/week role at £16.04 per hour.
