Do you love the thrill of working in a fast-paced entertainment environment? This is an excellent opportunity to join the team at Swansea Arena and to be directly involved in the delivery of world-class performances and events!

As a Chef de Partie in events, you will work as part of the kitchen team, reporting to the Kitchen Manager/Head Chef/Sous Chef and the rest of the brigade. The focus of the role will involve all aspects within the main kitchen department. You will be responsible for preparing fresh food and cooking different cuisines for the banqueting, buffet events and food kiosks. Managing and maintaining the cleanliness in the main kitchen department is also essential for this role.

Working with the wider venue team, you will support the operational delivery of events in the venue, including theatre performances, music gigs, and comedy shows ensuring our customers have the best possible experience in our Front of House spaces. As well as this, you will work closely with the Conference and Events team in the delivery of other venue hires such as conferences, banquets and exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes across a variety of service styles (banqueting, buffets, kiosks, events)
  • Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation standards across all food service
  • Take ownership of a specific kitchen section and ensure smooth day-to-day operation
  • Support delivery of large-scale events (concerts, conferences, theatre productions, etc.)
  • Ensure all food is produced in line with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper storage and stock rotation
  • Always maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen brigade and venue teams to deliver seamless service
  • Assist in training and supporting junior staff or kitchen assistants
  • Adapt to fast-paced, high-volume service periods while maintaining standards

Your skills, qualities, and experience:

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience working as a CDP or strong Commis ready to step up
  • Experience in high-volume or event-based catering environments
  • Knowledge of multiple cuisines and ability to adapt menus for different event types
  • Strong understanding of food safety, allergen management, and hygiene standards
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage a section independently
  • Experience working in banqueting, buffet, or conference catering
  • Team-focused mindset with the ability to support and mentor others
  • Flexibility with working hours (evenings, weekends, event-based shifts)
  • Calm, professional attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (or higher) qualification
