Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for the position of Tech Swing on the London production of The Book of Mormon. We are seeking applications from individuals from all backgrounds for the position of Tech Swing.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working in collaboration with other departments
  • Keeping all sound and automation equipment clean and in good show quality condition
  • Assisting with daily sound and auto checks and regular maintenance calls
  • Maintaining the working order of radio mics and assist with fittings and changes as required
  • Learning 4x backstage plots and system switch on
  • Responsible for operating the automation equipment as instructed and dictated by the artistic requirements and direction of the production
  • Attend rehearsal calls and cover runs where required
  • Ability to handle emergency repairs

Candidates experience should include:

  • Experience in large scale theatre environment
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety guidelines and working practices
  • Relevant hands-on professional experience in theatre sound and automation
  • The ability to adapt, work under pressure and within a team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be a good listener
  • Knowledge of Shure Radio mic systems is desirable but not essential

The contract is for a minimum of 12 months, and applicants should ideally be available to start as soon as possible. Performances are typically Monday to Saturday evenings with matinee performances on Friday and Saturday.
