Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, experienced Automation No.4 on the London production of STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW.

Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional theatre experience in automation, the ability to work under pressure and within a team, and good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time management qualities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance and operation of the automation equipment for the production
  • Overseeing automation operation
  • Working within a team to ensure that the show’s automation requirements remain true to the original concept

Experience on a large scale production is desired and any candidate must be highly organised with good communication skills.

Start Date: Mid to late April 2026

Please Note: All applicants must be able to commit to the full contract and must have the right to work in the UK.

Job Location: West End London

Contract Type: Fixed term until April 2027, then the contract will be rolling

Salary: Weekly rate as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement.

Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
