Deputy Stage Manager – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, Deputy Stage Manager on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.

Previous experience as a Deputy Stage Manager on a busy show is essential. Skills required include attention to detail, the ability to stay calm under pressure in a busy live production environment and good all-round technical skills.

Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Deputy Stage Manager on a first-class West End production and include (but will not be limited to) maintaining the prompt book, calling the show, teaching the book and any changes to Book Covers, cueing sound and automation and deputising for the Stage Manager when they are unavailable, (both managing the department and stepping into their on stage track).

Please Note: All applicants must be able to commit to the full contract.
Job Location: West End London.
Contract Type: A year contract in the first instance, then the contract will be rolling.
Salary: Weekly buyout rate as per SOLT/Equity Agreement.
Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
