An exciting opportunity to join the backstage team on the smash-hit production of CABARET at THE KIT KAT CLUB in London’s West End, directed by Rebecca Frecknall and designed by Tom Scutt.
Start Date: March 2025
Role: Assistant Stage Manager (Book Cover).
Contract Type: SOLT/Equity Agreement.
Weekly Fee: A buy-out which equates to Equity minimum plus pay for additional hours.
Job Description: Reporting to the Company Manager & Stage Manager. The stage management team oversee all aspects of the physical production of CABARET both in performance, rehearsal and ongoing maintenance and repair. The team looks after the overall movement of props, furniture and actors on and off the stage to ensure a smooth running of performances. The ability to work as part of a team is vital in this role, as well as the ability to communicate well and bring a positive attitude into our workplace. As this position is a book cover, show calling experience is essential.
Due to the nature of this production, the ASM will also be asked to work on the prologue performance that takes place ahead of the scripted performance. The prologue performance takes place as the audience are entering the venue, with a separate cast to the scripted cast. You will be required to ensure the smooth running of this performance, some audience management alongside the FOH team, and the movement of props and cast welfare alongside the Company and Stage Manager.
The stage management team liaise directly with all departments on stage (cast, lighting, sound, automation, wardrobe & WHAM) as well as supporting the creative team to realise the artistic vision of the production.
Previous experience as an ASM plus some experience of Book Cover is ESSENTIAL.
