The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple ground-mounted solar PV projects from inception to completion. This includes managing budgets, schedules, quality, and compliance, supported by site-based delivery teams. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of ground-mounted solar projects, from design through construction and commissioning.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, in conjunction with allocated Project Planner.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, HSQE standards, and all relevant UK legislation.
- Lead and coordinate site-based delivery teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Conduct regular progress meetings and ensure effective communication across all parties.
- Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-control measures.
- Assist Quantity Surveyor with relevant information to support the preparation of financial forecasts and monthly progress reports for senior management.
- Implement quality assurance protocols and conduct site inspections.
- Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide timely updates and resolve issues to ensure client satisfaction.
- Oversee commissioning, testing, and final documentation.
- Ensure smooth transition to operations and maintenance teams.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 8–10 years in project management, with at least 5 years in renewable energy (solar PV preferred).
- Proven track record delivering large-scale ground-mounted solar projects.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) desirable.
- SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH certification advantageous.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project and project management tools.
- In-depth knowledge of UK planning, grid connection, and renewable energy regulations.
