AMB Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for an experienced HSE Advisor to join a growing organisation operating across the Midlands and West of England. This is a varied role involving regular travel to sites, time at a Stafford-based hub, and flexible home working. The position would ideally suit candidates based in Nottinghamshire or Staffordshire.
The Role
As HSE Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in promoting a positive health and safety culture across multiple sites. Working closely with the HSEQ Manager, you’ll ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental legislation while supporting the delivery of best-in-class HSEQ standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures
- Develop, review, and enforce safe systems of work
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits
- Deliver in-house health and safety training
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and improvement plans
- Manage incident reporting and lead investigations
- Stay up to date with relevant HSE legislation and best practice
- Provide specialist advice on areas such as fire safety and hazardous substances
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of health and safety standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyse complex information and present it clearly
- Strong IT skills with high attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- IOSH qualification or equivalent
Desirable
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 27001:2013
- Background in construction or industrial environments
- Understanding of environmental and sustainability practices
