An established specialist life safety contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Alarm / Fire Suppression / Electrical Engineer to support continued growth across their service and maintenance division. This is a hands-on role working on complex, critical life safety systems, offering strong earning potential through overtime, travel and allowances.

The Role

  • Installation (project-based), commissioning, servicing and remedial works on fire alarm and fire suppression systems
  • Working on complex systems within critical environments (e.g. data centres and high-risk sites)
  • Predominantly site-based across the North West, with UK travel as required
  • Occasional working away: Typically 1 week per quarter (sometimes 2)
  • Overseas work mainly in Germany and the Netherlands
  • All travel, accommodation, food and expenses covered when working away
  • Paid overtime and enhanced rates for UK and overseas work

Experience Required

  • 3–5+ years’ experience working on fire alarm systems
  • Strong experience with addressable systems (e.g. Gent, Notifier, Advanced)
  • Experience with fire suppression systems (gas suppression / water mist) is highly desirable and a key differentiator
  • Experience with commissioning, fault finding and system-level troubleshooting
  • Comfortable working independently on complex sites
  • Full UK driving licence

Package Details

  • Basic salary circa £40,000
  • Higher salaries available (£42k–£43k+) for strong all-round candidates
  • Significant overtime available – realistic total earnings £50k–£70k+
  • Company van provided (fully equipped with tools)
  • Paid allowances when working away
