We are recruiting an experienced Plumbing, Heating & Gas Engineer to carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and breakdown works across a wide range of domestic properties and commercial premises. Training is provided to the ideal Domestic Gas candidate & will be put through commercial gas qualifications.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will work independently across regional sites, delivering high-quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and excellent customer service. Experience with air source and ground source heat pumps is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities- Plumbing & Heating
- Install domestic and commercial plumbing systems
- First fix, second fix and full commissioning
- Install and modify heating pipework (copper, MLCP, steel where required)
- Fault-find and repair heating and hot water systems
- Replace pumps, valves, cylinders, radiators and controls
- Install, service and repair gas appliances
- Work on domestic boilers and associated systems
- Maintain and install commercial gas plant
- Carry out gas safety inspections and certification
- Perform tightness testing, purging and commissioning to regulatory standards
- Attend reactive breakdowns and identify faults quickly and accurately
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Provide cost-effective repair solutions
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding findings and recommendations
- Install, service and fault-find ASHP systems
- Install, service and fault-find GSHP systems
- Knowledge of low-temperature heating systems
- Familiarity with MCS standards and best practices
- Complete job sheets, service reports and certification
- Adhere to Gas Safe, H&S and manufacturer requirements
- Follow RAMS and site-specific safety procedures
- Maintain accurate records and photographic evidence where required
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
- Domestic ACS qualifications
- Proven install, service and breakdown experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional, customer-focused and reliable
- Commercial gas qualifications
- Air Source Heat Pump experience
- Ground Source Heat Pump experience
- Unvented hot water certificate
- Experience in commercial sites and plant rooms
- MCS experience or willingness to train
- Varied and interesting workload across domestic and commercial sectors
