An established and growing contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a major long-term contract based in Manchester. This is an urgent requirement, and the successful candidate will be joining a busy and well-established project team delivering a high volume of planned and reactive works.
The Role
Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for the commercial management of works delivered under a Schedule of Rates framework. This is a site-based position and would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable working within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams and maintaining strong relationships with both site and client teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing costs across a high volume of planned and reactive works
- Pricing, valuation and management of works under Schedule of Rates contracts
- Reviewing and agreeing variations
- Producing cost reports and forecasts
- Managing subcontractor accounts
- Supporting operational teams with commercial guidance
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts
- Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Essential: Schedule of Rates (SOR/NSR) experience
- Experience within construction, refurbishment, maintenance or building fabric projects
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
