I'm working with a growing building services business that is looking to add a Mechanical Project Manager to its expanding projects team. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody looking to develop their project management career within a fast-paced retail environment. The business delivers mechanical and electrical projects for major retail clients, operating in an environment where no two days are the same. They need someone organised, proactive and willing to get involved wherever required to help projects run smoothly.

The Role

  • Working closely with the senior mechanical team, you'll support the successful delivery of projects from initial scope through to completion.
  • Responsibilities will include:
    • Managing mechanical projects and minor works across multiple sites
    • Attending site surveys and scoping upcoming works
    • Gathering technical information and producing project documentation
    • Assisting with procurement and material ordering
    • Supporting project cost control and budget management
    • Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
    • Monitoring project progress and resolving issues on site
    • Coordinating installation activities and ensuring programmes are met
    • Assisting with commissioning, testing and project handovers
    • Supporting the delivery of projects within live retail environments

  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and mechanical installations
  • Experience delivering projects within retail, fit-out, FM or commercial environments
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • Full UK Driving Licence
