Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE

Sector: Retail / Building Services / FM Projects

AMB Recruitment are working with a growing building services business who are looking to add an Electrical Estimator to their pre-construction team. This is a really good opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck into the detail, but also wants to have a genuine impact on how things are done. The business is moving away from Excel-based costing models and into Trimble estimating software, so they need someone who knows Trimble and can help build proper cost models across different workstreams such as new builds, refurbishments, café projects, remodels and EV rollouts.

The role would suit someone from an electrical building services background who is comfortable pricing projects within fast-paced environments, ideally retail, commercial fit-out or FM works. It is not just a 'sit and price tenders' role. There will be a bit of commercial/QS awareness needed, along with the ability to work closely with project, commercial and operational teams.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Preparing accurate electrical estimates and tender submissions
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Producing estimates using Trimble and Excel
  • Compiling labour, material and subcontractor costings
  • Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotes
  • Identifying risks, scope gaps and value engineering options
  • Supporting internal tender reviews and client queries
  • Helping improve estimating processes, cost libraries and internal systems

What they’re looking for:

  • Strong electrical estimating experience
  • Confident user of Trimble estimating software
  • Experience pricing building services projects
  • Good understanding of electrical systems, drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Someone proactive, organised and comfortable working to deadlines
  • Ideally experience within retail, commercial fit-out or FM environments

This would be a great move for someone who wants to join a busy, growing business where they can be trusted to take ownership, improve processes and become a key part of the pre-construction function. If you’re an Electrical Estimator with Trimble experience and you’re open to a new opportunity, please apply or get in touch for more information.
