Cabling & Administration:

  • Installation and decommission of Structured Cabling and Design upon request, including termination of patch panels & patch leads, cable management and various patch lead connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot and test structured cabling using Fluke equipment, producing supporting certification.
  • Assist client with hardware installations upon request, including server switches, floor standing cabinets etc.
  • Liaise and assist third parties on behalf of client with out of hours support, including hardware installations, troubleshooting or escorting duties.
  • Carry out essential Data Centre Maintenance Tasks including Cabinet, PDU and Containment Modifications.
  • Adhere to client processes, including communicating updates verbally and via email during works to be provided, and once tasks have been completed.
  • Undertake necessary administration and data entry, using platforms including Service Now, Microsoft Office 365, SmartView and other customer portals.
  • Raise tickets on the co-location providers customer portal, working with the co-location field engineers to resolve any issues.
  • Review and approve site access requests via access control ticketing system, liaising with third parties on behalf of client.
  • Create and update patching schedules for each Data Centre task upon completion.
  • Update and maintain data centre site stock lists after task completion, sending the updated version to client via email.
  • Maintain stock levels, advising when client needs to order materials, whilst ensuring an staging area is clean and organised.
  • Ensure verbal or written client approval is sought before carrying out an on-site tasks or duties.
