Looking for your first step into Quantity Surveying, or already started your QS journey and want real project exposure? We're working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and groundworks projects across the UK. They're looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor who wants more than just a desk job, someone keen to get involved on live projects, learn from experienced commercial professionals, and develop into a fully-fledged Quantity Surveyor.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate, placement student, HNC/HND holder or someone with early commercial experience in construction who's looking for genuine progression and long-term career development.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting with project valuations, cost reporting and financial management
  • Supporting subcontractor procurement and account management
  • Monitoring project costs and tracking variations
  • Helping prepare applications for payment and final accounts
  • Working closely with site teams, engineers and project managers
  • Learning the commercial and contractual side of major civil engineering projects
  • Contributing to monthly cost reports and commercial reviews

What we're looking for:

  • Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Commercial Management or similar (or currently studying towards one)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Construction, civils or placement experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
  • Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts would be beneficial
