We're working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and groundworks projects across the UK. They're looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor who wants more than just a desk job, someone keen to get involved on live projects, learn from experienced commercial professionals, and develop into a fully-fledged Quantity Surveyor.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate, placement student, HNC/HND holder or someone with early commercial experience in construction who's looking for genuine progression and long-term career development.
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting with project valuations, cost reporting and financial management
- Supporting subcontractor procurement and account management
- Monitoring project costs and tracking variations
- Helping prepare applications for payment and final accounts
- Working closely with site teams, engineers and project managers
- Learning the commercial and contractual side of major civil engineering projects
- Contributing to monthly cost reports and commercial reviews
What we're looking for:
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Commercial Management or similar (or currently studying towards one)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Construction, civils or placement experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
- Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts would be beneficial
