About the Role
This position is ideal for an instructor who enjoys delivering hands‑on, safety‑critical training and working with a variety of delegates. The role combines training delivery, assessment, course development and maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accredited, endorsed and bespoke training courses to industry standards including OPITO, RTITB, HSE, ECITB, NPORS, MCA and RYA.
- Coach and assess delegates to ensure learning objectives are met and any gaps are addressed.
- Follow lesson plans and deliver training in line with scheduled timetables.
- Prepare all training materials and ensure classrooms are fully set up and fit for purpose.
- Manage enrolment-to-certification administration processes accurately.
- Identify opportunities to enhance course content and support updates where required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation and industry standards.
- Participate in personal development and meet requirements set out in the competence matrix.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Teaching experience with a recognised teaching qualification.
- Assessor qualification.
- Experience delivering survival-based courses (OPITO / GWO).
Desirable Skills & Background
- Experience teaching Working at Height.
- Ability to deliver First Aid courses (basic & advanced) – ideally qualified to FREC Level 4 or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months sea time (Ex‑Third Officer or similar maritime background preferred).
- Fast Rescue Craft experience / RYA Powerboat experience.
- Diving experience – minimum Divemaster or equivalent.
