We are recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager on a contract basis to oversee the delivery of mechanical works on a large-scale hospital development in Bournemouth. Working for a leading contractor within the energy and critical infrastructure / M&E sector, you will be responsible for managing mechanical services from site installation through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. This is a site-based contract role suited to an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with healthcare or complex project experience, comfortable working in a fast-paced, live environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical services on a hospital project.
- Oversee installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework, plant and associated services.
- Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, labour and materials on site.
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, quality standards and budget.
- Liaise with project teams, consultants, commercial teams and the client.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and site procedures.
- Monitor progress, report on milestones and resolve technical or delivery issues.
- Support commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within M&E / building services.
- Previous experience delivering healthcare or hospital projects (highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems.
- Experience managing subcontractors and site teams on complex projects.
- Ability to work within live or critical environments.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK and ability to pass a DBS check if required.
