A well‑established civil engineering contractor is recruiting a Contracts Engineer / Senior Contracts Engineer to support clean‑water infrastructure projects across the Northumbria and Cumbria region. This role sits within the Civils division and is strongly focused on water tank projects, including tank draining, cleaning, inspection, refurbishment and return‑to‑service works.
The Role
- Delivering civils contracts within the water sector
- Managing projects from planning through to completion
- Overseeing RAMS, programme, H&S and quality compliance
- Monitoring site progress and performance
- Managing costs, variations and commercial aspects of works
- Liaising closely with site teams, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring works are delivered to specification and industry standards
Requirements
- Experience as a Contracts Engineer or Senior Contracts Engineer
- Strong civils / water sector background
- Essential: previous experience working on water tanks (clean water tanks, reservoirs, tank refurbishment / return‑to‑service works)
- Good knowledge of H&S, environmental and quality requirements
- Comfortable working across multiple sites within the region
- Strong organisational and communication skills
