Contract Project Manager – Utility Scale Solar (30MW+)
Location: UK (Site-based / project rotation)
Contract Length: 12–24 Months

Overview
We’re supporting a major renewable contractor delivering multiple utility-scale solar PV projects across the UK. We’re looking for a hands-on Contract Project Manager with proven experience delivering 30MW+ solar farms in a live construction environment. This is a delivery role – you’ll be responsible for driving site progress, managing subcontractors, and keeping programme, safety, and commercial performance on track from mobilisation through to energisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading day-to-day delivery of a utility-scale solar site (30MW+)
- Managing site teams including Site Managers, Electrical Supervisors, and Civils contractors
- Owning the programme and pushing works to hit key milestones
- Coordinating civils, electrical, and HV works packages on site
- Working closely with DNOs / ICPs through grid connection and energisation phases
- Running site meetings, progress reporting, and client updates
- Managing subcontractors, productivity, and sequencing of works
- Supporting commissioning and final energisation activities
- Keeping control of HSE, RAMS, permits, and site compliance
- Managing variations, delays, and commercial change where required
What we need:
- Strong background delivering utility-scale solar PV (minimum 30MW+)
- Proven experience in EPC / principal contractor environment
- Comfortable running live construction sites with multiple work fronts
- Strong understanding of: HV / grid connections, Civils + electrical balance of plant, Programme sequencing on large-scale projects
- Experience managing subcontractors and mixed discipline teams
- Able to work under pressure in fast-moving project environments
Nice to have:
- BESS project experience
- SMSTS / CSCS / First Aid
- Exposure to SAP / AP environments
- NEC contract awareness
Contract details:
- 12–24 month duration
- Outside IR35 (project dependent)
- Start dates July-September
- Long-term pipeline of UK solar work available
