Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) Startup team as a Principal TechLead for Specialist Solution Architects!
This position is part of the WWSO Startup team in EMEA, where you will set the GenAI technical strategy and support collaboration and development of the Specialist Solution Architect team, helping Startups accelerate and go deep across AWS’ GenAI offerings (ranging from Accelerated Compute, GPUs, Managed Inference, and distributed training and inference platforms), as well as underlying Core and Data services.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and support a team of excellent Specialist Solutions Architects who work with Startups in the EMEA Region (UK, Ireland, Israel, Middle-east, France, Germany, Nordics and other European countries).
- Set the Technical GTM Strategy for the team driving deep technical Thought Leadership.
- Interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as with developers and technical architects, to ease adoption, develop pipeline, secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line revenue, and explore strategic partnerships.
- Become a trusted advisor within customer accounts through Technical Thought Leadership.
- Develop and deploy programs that leverage AWS Field Solution Architect teams, as well as technology and consulting partner channels.
- Collaborate with AWS Product and Technical teams to create solutions that solve customer problems, including reference architectures, patterns, automation, and release plan.

- Drive collaboration across a cross-domain team of different cloud technologies.

- Guide the team to find ways to scale tech knowledge and assets via workshops, blogs, products, programs, and the AWS Field.
- Gather critical Startup feedback to inform our product roadmaps.
About the team
The WWSO (Worldwide Specialist Organization) helps customers adopt our newest and most advantageous technologies, sitting in the sweet-spot between product teams, account sales teams and customer success roles. We are technology specialists, who work backwards from our customers’ most complex, business-critical problems to dive-deep and guide customers through technical expertise, joint with building and executing go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include technical solutions architecture roles and technical business development roles.
The WWSO Startup team is a segment of WWSO dedicated to going deep with startups in their domain or technology. We work with AWS Service Teams to ensure services and features continue to match the accelerating speed of startup development. We also support the wider Startup ecosystem, partnering with VCs to best support a startup's journey on AWS.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications.
- 10+ years technical development, design, and implementation, and management of technical customer-facing resources.
- 7+ years of experience with at least two of the following technology categories: Training or ML, Accelerated Compute (including GPUs), Containers, Data and Analytics, and Databases.
- 3+ years’ experience leading high-performance teams in a matrixed organization and people development.
Preferred qualification
- AWS certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification.
- Startup background and experience at a VC or PE-backed firm in a Technical Executive capacity.
- Familiarity with open-source software and agentic tooling used by Startups and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies common to Startups.
- Strong data-based storytelling skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with Startup executives and developers.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly across the latest GenAI developments.
- Publication of academic technology papers.
