Come make history and join Amazon's Legal Department by supporting global trade matters, spanning customs and import compliance, tariffs, export controls, and sanctions, in service of our global business! This role will lead all Europe, Middle East and Africa global trade matters and will collaborate with business and legal teams across AWS and Amazon to develop innovative legal and business solutions. In this role, you'll navigate complex and rapidly evolving regulatory landscapes, deliver trade legal counsel on emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing, and directly influence AWS's global strategic initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on import, customs, export controls, sanctions, and other international trade laws applicable to emerging technologies.
- Develop innovative international trade compliance solutions.

Basic qualifications:
- License to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction.
- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent.
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation.
- Qualified Lawyer with 5+ years post-qualification legal experience.
- Knowledge of international trade laws, including import, customs, export controls, or sanctions.
- Exceptional research and analytical skills with ability to summarize regulatory impacts.
- Ability to provide practical legal guidance in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Preferred qualification:
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work.
- Experience with technology sector.
