AWS Professional Services is looking for a Senior ProServe Cloud Architect to partner with UK&I customers in TMEGS and ISV segment, on defining and executing data and AI transformation programmes. You will work directly with customer CDOs, CTOs, and senior data leaders as their advisory partner on data and AI, translating business ambitions into actionable strategies and shaping the engagements that bring them to life. Think of this as a Field CDO role at a practitioner level: you sit alongside customer data leadership, advise on the decisions that shape their data and AI future, and ensure the programmes you shape actually deliver.

You will develop business cases that quantify value, work alongside Account Executives to shape and close deals, and lead advisory engagements from initial discovery through to implementation planning. You do not wait for someone else to do the commercial thinking because you bring it yourself as a natural part of how you operate. This is a T-shaped role where you operate broadly across data strategy, AI, analytics, and data management while bringing hands-on depth in at least one area that gives you genuine technical credibility with engineering teams and architects. You steer a delivery team on technical direction rather than advising from the sideline, and that combination of elevated pitch and working depth means you are equally effective presenting to a VP of Data as you are running a design review with a data engineering squad.

The ideal candidate has led data or AI functions in industry such as Head of Data, Head of Analytics, or AI Lead, or has held senior consulting roles at Manager or Senior Manager level in a Big 4 or technology consultancy specialising in data and AI. You understand what it takes to build a data-driven organisation because you have done it, and you can articulate that experience in terms of business outcomes rather than just technical capabilities. You build relationships with senior stakeholders quickly because you speak their language and deliver value from the first conversation.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with customer CDOs, CTOs, and data leadership as their advisory partner on enterprise data and AI strategy, ensuring strategies are aligned to business objectives and grounded in delivery reality.
  • Develop business cases with quantified outcomes including ROI models, value trees, and cost-benefit analyses that support customer investment decisions.
  • Shape and scope advisory-led engagements alongside Account Executives by crafting commercial proposals, pricing constructs, and resource models that close.
  • Lead discovery and strategy engagements covering current-state assessments, maturity models, use case identification, and roadmap development.
  • Advise on GenAI and Agentic AI readiness, covering use case prioritisation, data foundation requirements, and governance considerations.
  • Steer delivery teams on technical direction by reviewing architectures, challenging assumptions, and going hands-on in your area of depth when needed.
  • Contribute to the UKI Data & AI practice through reusable assets, advisory frameworks, and internal knowledge sharing.
  • Support customer leaders through change by helping them navigate organisational, cultural, and capability challenges in AI adoption.
  • Build and grow trusted relationships across your customer portfolio through credibility and consistent delivery of value, positioning yourself as a long-term advisor rather than a transactional project resource.

About the team

The UK&I TMEGS & ISV ProServe practice works with some of the UK's most recognised media, gaming, entertainment, and technology brands. We operate at the forefront of GenAI adoption in enterprise β€” agentic AI, document intelligence, personalisation, and content generation. You'll also have direct access to AWS AI/ML service teams and private betas, giving you an edge in positioning solutions ahead of the market.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field.
  • 10+ years in data, analytics, and AI, including 3+ years in a senior role such as Head of Data/Analytics, AI Lead, Senior Data Strategy Consultant, or equivalent.
  • T-shaped profile that is broad across data strategy, AI, analytics, and governance, with hands-on depth in at least one technical domain that gives you credibility with engineering teams.
  • Experience building business cases and articulating quantified value for data and AI investments.
  • Track record of advising senior stakeholders at VP or C-level on data strategy, AI adoption, or analytics transformation.
  • Commercial acumen demonstrated through experience crafting deals alongside sales teams, shaping engagement scope, contributing to pricing, or owning P&L for a data/analytics function.
  • Background in either industry data/AI leadership, or consulting with data and AI specialism.

Preferred qualification

  • Experience with data strategy frameworks including maturity models, operating model design, data product thinking, and governance.
  • Knowledge of modern data and AI platforms including cloud-native analytics, lakehouse, ML platforms, and GenAI tooling.
  • Experience leading or contributing to large-scale professional services or consulting engagements end-to-end.
  • Understanding of organisational change management in the context of data and AI transformation.
  • Proven ability to build trusted senior relationships through domain credibility and delivery of value.
  • Consulting background in a Big Four, boutique, or technology consultancy with client-facing advisory experience.
