What You’ll Do
- Gain first-hand experience identifying risks, improving processes, and supporting a culture of safety while working alongside experienced safety professionals.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Technology & Innovation: Collaborate with robotics teams to ensure safe human–machine interaction; develop innovative solutions for material-handling safety; use the latest safety technology and monitoring systems.
- Data & Continuous Improvement: Use data analytics to identify trends and prevent incidents; measure key safety metrics and drive data-led decisions.
- People & Culture: Lead safety campaigns that reach thousands of employees; engage with leadership teams to drive safety culture; support sustainable workplace practices.
- Operations & Response: Work with engineering teams on facility design improvements; participate in emergency response planning and crisis management; contribute to global safety initiatives that shape Amazon’s future.
A Day in the Life
- Carry out daily safety inspections and support risk assessments.
- Observe workplace activities to identify potential hazards or unsafe practices.
- Collect, analyse, and report safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support incident investigations and contribute to corrective or preventive action plans.
- Assist with safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Help review and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor implementation of safety improvements and record progress.
- Use digital tools and software to manage safety audits, reports, and training records.
- Participate in projects to enhance safety culture, sustainability, and wellbeing on site.
- Continuously learn from mentors and apply new knowledge to keep people safe every day.
Basic Qualifications
- UK national, or non-UK national with the right to work in the UK, or EU national with settled status; must have lived in the UK/EEA or British overseas territory for 3 years or more prior to commencing the apprenticeship (September 2026).
- Resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program.
- Not registered to study on a UK government-funded course ending August 2026 or later.
- 18 years old or older before entering an Amazon building (September 2026).
- Right to live and work in England; if on a visa, must enable legal work/residence for the duration of the programme until May 2028.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (including Maths and English); if qualifications gained outside the UK, provide a Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC.
- Must not be on another Department for Education-funded training program; cannot hold a qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject area.
- This position is a 20-month fixed-term contract.
- Assumes candidate has little or no knowledge/experience of the occupation.
