Duties and responsibilities:
- Receive and put away inventory
- Get customer orders ready and pack them up
- Load boxes into trucks for shipment
- Work around moving machines like order pickers, forklifts, mobile carts, and possibly robots!
- Exchange safety tips daily with co-workers
- Use scanners to scan bar codes on products
- View prompts on screens and follow directions for some tasks
What to expect inside the warehouse:
- Your safety is important. You’ll wear a safety vest, do daily stretching, and share safety tips with co-workers.
- You will work around and use moving machines, such as stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, order pickers, and mobile carts.
- You’ll be on the move for your whole shift, which may involve standing in one place for long periods, walking, or climbing stairs. Comfortable, closed-toed shoes are required.
- Temperatures in some parts of the warehouse may vary between 20°C and 30°C, occasionally exceeding 30°C.
- The environment can be noisy; hearing protection will be provided if needed.
- The dress code is relaxed but includes safety rules.
Basic qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older with basic English skills.
- Ability to lift up to 22 kg
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during long shifts
- Ability to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move items
- Ability to go up and down stairs (if applicable)
