About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tax professional to take ownership of a varied portfolio while working closely with senior leadership.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team environment, providing both compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base, including owner-managed businesses.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex tax clients, ensuring high-quality compliance and advisory delivery
  • Work alongside senior stakeholders on strategic tax matters
  • Provide advice on tax planning, business restructures, acquisitions, and disposals
  • Support clients with inheritance tax and estate planning considerations
  • Handle HMRC enquiries and investigations, including preparing reports and technical analysis
  • Act as a technical point of contact for internal teams and external accountants
  • Mentor and support junior team members with their development


Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tax role within practice
  • Strong knowledge of corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax
  • Experience advising owner-managed businesses
  • Good communication and client relationship skills
  • Proactive and organised approach to work
  • VAT knowledge is desirable but not essential
