We are seeking a Senior Product Leader to build agentic shopping experiences on Amazon. Alexa for Shopping (AFS), formerly Rufus, is Amazon's Shopping AI, a high-visibility generative AI investment within the Stores business built on large language models (LLMs). Our vision is for AFS to be an always-on personal shopping agent that learns what matters to each customer, anticipates their needs, and acts on their behalf. Beyond responding to requests, AFS will proactively recognize opportunities to help, suggest timely next steps, and follow through on goals that unfold over days, weeks, or months.
If you are passionate about reinventing e-commerce, helping customers offload tedious shopping tasks to smart, autonomous AI, and building a team that does the same, this is a rare opportunity to define the future of agentic commerce at Amazon.
In this role, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AFS's agentic portfolio. The portfolio spans customer-initiated automations such as price and deal alerts and replenishment, proactive experiences where AFS recognizes opportunities to help, long-running goals that AFS follows through over weeks or months, and the platform capabilities that let teams across Amazon Stores build agentic experiences. You will lead a team of PM-Ts, each owning a set of features. You will set the portfolio's goals, decide where to invest, and hold the team to a high bar on customer outcomes. Success means customers save time, money, and effort, trust AFS to act within their instructions, and engage more, with progress measured in customer value per action.
To get there, you will shape the priorities of AFS Engineering and Science teams, pairing a clear product vision with rigorous technical execution. You will partner with multiple Applied Science and Engineering organizations to push new frontiers and build experiences that state-of-the-art models only now make possible. You will make data-driven portfolio decisions: which bets to scale, which to iterate, and which to retire, grounded in experiment results and customer signals. You will also hire, coach, and develop product leaders who invent novel LLM-driven interactions that balance technical feasibility with customer delight.
Key job responsibilities
- Build: Build and prototype hands-on. Use AI-native tools to turn ideas into working agentic prototypes in days, test them with customers and leaders, and to set engineering and science priorities.
- Dogfood the portfolio and competitive landscape and make it a team habit.
- Set the bar for agent quality, trust, and safety with Science and Responsible AI partners.
- Partner with platform teams to define the shared agentic primitives (triggers, mission state, actions, scheduling) that let builders across Amazon Stores launch experiences independently.
- Think Big: Own the multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for the agentic portfolio, and write the narratives (OP1, PRFAQs, strategy docs) that align senior leadership on where agentic commerce goes next.
- Define portfolio goals and metrics that tie agentic features to incremental customer and business value. Decide which bets to scale, iterate, or retire based on experiment results and customer signals.
- Invent new interaction models for agentic shopping, and set the direction for capabilities that state-of-the-art models only now make possible.
- Lead: Hire, coach, and develop a team of PM-Ts who are builders and strategic thinkers. Set clear ownership boundaries, raise the bar on product judgment, technical depth, and writing, and expect every PM to prototype and dogfood.
- Set priorities across Engineering, Science, UX, and partner teams, including Notifications, Personalization, Pricing, Search, and Ads, and resolve trade-offs across team boundaries.
- Run the review mechanisms (WBRs, goal reviews, launch readiness) that drive delivery, experimentation, and international expansion of the portfolio.
