Sr. Manager, Program Management, Amazon Business Operations
Amazon Business (AB) is re-inventing B2B eCommerce by offering business customers of all sizes the same advantages Amazon has already brought to consumers including broad selection, low pricing, and great customer service. WW Amazon Business Ops is building the operations and supply chain solutions that will enable AB’s rapid growth by re-engineering many parts of our supply chain to offer B2B specific last mile delivery solutions, consolidated and pallet deliveries, and many other services that business customers require. As an early team member, you will be involved in helping re-imagine what a B2B supply chain should look like and playing a key role in the technology that will power our B2B supply chain.
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Manager in Japan, with a strong delivery record and proven program management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects and programs. The role is uniquely positioned to influence leaders across multiple operations and business organization to drive visibility on B2B requirements and to develop long term initiatives that will make Amazon the supplier of choice for the B2B segment in Japan. The Senior Manager will deliver this critical scope through a team of Program managers that own specific components of the end-to-end operations. The role will lead the team to scope and create operating plans, develop processes and drive implementation, and communicate to senior management on program status and risks. Cross-team coordination, program/project management and executive presentation skills are essential. This role will provide a great opportunity to build the foundations of Amazon\’s B2B supply chain in Japan, and will work extensively in launching features in the complex last mile delivery and consolidated delivery space.
Key job responsibilities
• Hire, develop and manage a team of operations program managers to drive B2B last mile delivery and consolidation strategy.
• Manage full lifecycle of multiple complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across operations and business organizations.
• Own the delivery of codified goals at the senior leadership level, clearly articulating the criticality, status and requirements on support needed, in verbal and written format.
• Development of the overall program strategy, tactically driving teams in and outside of your organization to deliver results.
• Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, and inherent trade-offs to drive short and long investments in the right areas.
• Partner with teams across the business you support and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate resources.
• Work with program managers, business leaders and operations team to communicate and drive critical business initiatives on the last mile delivery and consolidation charter.
• Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects.
• Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers.
• Roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 7+ years of team management experience
– Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics, or related field
– 5+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, or transportation or equivalent professional or military experience
– Demonstrated experience leading and owning cross-functional programs. Proven ability to influence internal/external stakeholders without authority to adopt new processes/initiatives
– Demonstrated experience owning the design, implementation, and optimization of initiatives
– Demonstrable problem-solving, mathematics, and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment
– Experience with Microsoft Excel and complex data analysis, basic SQL knowledge
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences
– Bi-lingual: Japanese and English business level proficiency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
