Description
Amazon’s Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Mechatronics Apprentice you’ll maintain complex automated equipment, ensuring safety, uptime and continuous improvement. You’ll work with cutting‑edge technology, from robotic arms to smart sensor networks, and gain hands‑on experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
Key job responsibilities
- Perform proactive and preventive maintenance on automated equipment.
- Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in live distribution warehouses.
- Use state‑of‑the‑art tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
- Modify and upgrade existing equipment.
- Uphold health and safety policies and best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- UK national or non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK (including EU nationals with settled status). Must have lived in the UK, an EEA country or British overseas territory for at least 3 years (September 2026).
- Eligibility to legally work and reside in England for the full 36–48 month duration of the programme (September 2030).
- Resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme.
- Not registered for a UK government funded course completed after August 2026.
- 18 years or older before entering an Amazon building (September 2026).
- Total minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grades 9–4 / A–C (or equivalent): Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- Statement of Comparability for non‑UK qualifications (via UK ENIC).
- Position is a 36‑48 month fixed‑term contract. No prior qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs at Grades 9–4 / A–C (or equivalent) including Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- Completed or studying a T‑Level in Engineering or A‑Levels with a bias toward science & technology.
Important Information
Applicants must provide proof of all required qualifications by 17 July 2026. Failure to do so will result in automatic withdrawal of the conditional offer and inability to commence the apprenticeship.
