Overview
Amazon Last Mile (AMZL) aims to deliver customer orders as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible through the world\’s best last mile delivery. To achieve this goal, AMZL strives to innovate and deliver best-in-class services through pioneering new technologies and services.
The Attainment team\’s goal is expanding AMZL\’s network and improving AMZL share in the delivery area. We are looking for a program manager to help expand AMZL delivery network. This position identifies improvement opportunities based on data, and finds and leads actions necessary to expand the AMZL network in Japan. Program managers utilize in-house tools, work with fulfillment centers (FC) and middle mile (logistics network from FC to delivery stations), and combine data from various sources to execute optimal changes in a rapidly growing delivery network. This is a role that provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the world\’s largest logistics business. This team\’s analysis and idea-driven decisions impact millions of Amazon customers while optimizing speed and quality. The ideal candidate will be able to understand the full range of IT systems that control Amazon\’s logistics, understand the impact of configuration changes, and then change the system settings in line with the AMZL network expansion plan. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and be enthusiastic data-driven. They will need not only IT and analytical skills, but also great communication skills, able to bring stakeholders together in situations where interests sometimes conflict.
Responsibilities
- Understand large-scale logistics control IT systems and change system settings in line with AMZL\’s network expansion plans.
- Communicate with stakeholders so that system changes do not interfere with delivery site operations. Facilitate systems for quick communication and automated processes.
- Manage network expansion project teams.
- Identify issues within the network that affect Attainments in advance, and support building a communication network within Amazon.
- By combining data from various sources, identify the causes of decrease in attainments and factors to increase them, and take action to improve them.
- Work with the BI/Data Engineering team to continuously improve data quality by promoting the collection of new data and the improvement of existing data.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Business level of English and Japanese
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in MS Access and SQL
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
- Experience in building automated processes to efficiently operate daily operations
