Description

We are hiring candidates to work out of the following locations: Germany, UK, Spain, Italy, and France.

Are you interested in launching the next generation of Amazon SCs in Europe? Do you want to be part of Amazon’s ongoing growth and expansion? Do you want to be a Subject Matter Expert in SC Yard design? The Global Engineering Services Team offers comprehensive training and support to help you succeed. The Middle Mile Engineering Programs team seeks an experienced Amazon Process Engineer to support the expansion of Sort Centers in Europe. The Process Engineer plays a key role in launching new SCs and optimizing existing ones, driving improvements to meet network capacity benchmarks. You will influence teams including Site Leads, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Process SMEs, Design Engineers, and stakeholders across the organization.

This role involves up to 50% travel across EMEA, working in multiple countries including Germany (Berlin), UK (London), Italy (Milan), Spain (Madrid or Barcelona), and France (Paris).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver results in ambiguous environments concerning SC Operations and Yard.
  2. Support Yard and UTR simulations to determine infrastructure needs.
  3. Provide SC design inputs using data-driven methods.
  4. Build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  5. Make decisions under pressure and seek opportunities for improvements.
  6. Manage and report on project metrics and lead high-profile meetings.
  7. Use data to identify gaps and develop solutions.
  8. Create Material Flow Diagrams.
  9. Provide written, data-driven process and engineering advice to leadership.
  10. Adapt to changing circumstances and possess warehouse operational skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field, with proven experience.
  • Experience with automated material handling, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with Lean Principles in process design.
  • Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Experience managing engineering design projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field, with 2-5 years of experience.
  • Language skills in French, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu are a plus.
