This apprenticeship focuses on individuals with military experience or military spouses/children, aiming to launch a career in Mechatronics Maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Carry out proactive and preventative maintenance.
- Perform reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
- Use latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
- Make modifications and upgrades to existing equipment.
- Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
- Work on continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications – Basic
- UK national or non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK, or EU national with settled status, having lived in the UK, EEA, or British overseas territory for 3 years or more prior to September 2026.
- Legal right to work and reside in England for the entire duration of the program (September 2026 – September 2030).
- Resident of the UK for the entire program.
- Not registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later.
- 18 years old or older before entering an Amazon building (September 2026).
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grades 9–4 / A–C (or equivalent) in Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- No qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level.
Qualifications – Preferred
- 5 GCSEs at Grades 9–4 / A–C (or equivalent) including Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- Achieved or studying towards a T‑Level in an Engineering subject or 'A' Levels with a bias towards science and technology.
Additional Information
- Apprenticeship duration: 36‑48 months, fixed‑term contract.
- First 12 months full‑time residential program at external training provider or Amazon training centres; accommodation and travel support provided for those living outside commutable distance.
- Post‑12 months study for HNC in Engineering or Mechatronics with on‑job training at Fulfilment, Sortation or Delivery sites.
- Shift coverage days, nights and weekends.
