Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations, contractual obligations, and Amazon policy; represent Amazon with government bodies.
- Drive regional environmental programs through collaboration with engineering, construction, and operations teams.
- Assure contractor and staff work aligns with Amazon standards and environmental regulations.
- Develop and present environmental metrics to monitor performance and identify risks.
- Submit time-critical environmental reports to government agencies.
- Conduct audits and investigations, implement CAPAs with stakeholders.
- Lead environmental permitting activities, including preparation and negotiation of permit requirements.
Key requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
- Experience in environmental compliance and permitting, waste management, regulatory and liability assessments, EIAs and water discharge requirements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with experience in environmental reporting and investigations
- Ability to work under pressure with strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills (English) and ability to collaborate across departments and regulators
