Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking to hire a highly motivated, customerâobsessed professional to provide handsâon support to our Data Center Infrastructure Operations team across the Greater Western London Cluster.
As a Data Centre Security Manager, you will be tasked with running dayâtoâday data centre security operations, supporting and executing security projects and programs, and assuring audit compliance with AWS policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and manage contract guard force to run daily data centre operations.
- Handle site security incidents, escalations or any other securityârelated issues.
- Provide afterâhours onâcall management support and participate in emergent, largeâscale event response when needed.
- Participate in recurring data centre security audits and reviews.
- Execute established compliance processes with AWS policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide input on, and may develop security methodologies, policies and procedures.
- Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
- Oversee new security construction or retrofit projects.
- Manage the security P&L for assigned site(s), assist management with financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions for security requirements.
- Collaborate with other teams to protect AWS Data Centre personnel, information and assets.
- Walk a facility and observe security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
- Drive campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
- Work with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
- Investigate accidents, thefts, disturbances, discrepancies.
- Oversee physical security subâcontractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
- Distill overarching security strategy into daily tactics to reach management goals.
- Teach others the proper security processes and methods.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in relevant industries such as law, customer service, investigations or project management.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience in Englishâlanguage communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience analyzing data to make business decisions.
- At least 8+ years experience with physical security best practices, which includes the application of physical security systems, investigation techniques and management of contract security guards.
- Associate's degree or above, or ASIS and relevant certifications in physical certification.
- Member of professional bodies such as ASIS, OSAC or CSyP.
