In this role you help design, deliver and operate Amazon’s data center infrastructure at scale. You will work across cross-functional teams to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency while expanding capacity for hyper-scale deployments. You lead engineering decisions and field work, balancing design, construction, and operations to meet evolving customer needs. The role offers hands-on responsibility in the field and on-site collaboration with operations, design, and construction teams. This is a chance to shape critical infrastructure that powers AWS cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and equipment submittal reviews for regional data centers
  • Troubleshoot site/equipment issues, perform RCA and document corrective actions
  • Support operational issues with training, SOP reviews, and event response
  • Own conceptual designs for data center upgrades to boost capacity, availability and efficiency
  • Coordinate with operations, design, server hardware, and safety teams to maintain standards
  • Manage concurrent projects across multiple regions
  • Lead engineering audits and produce risk reports with mitigations
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction, supporting commissioning and turnover

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, etc.)
  • Experience researching new designs and construction methods for data center equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical topology
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Attention to detail and high quality standards
  • Organized with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience with design, construction, operation or maintenance of mission critical facilities
  • Experience with building codes and regional regulations
  • Experience with EPMS/SCADA/BMS controls systems
