German Localization Editor, Amazon Devices and Services
The Amazon Devices Localization team is seeking a German Localization Editor passionate about language, quality, and customer experience. As part of our Editorial team, you will be responsible for the linguistic quality of German content across the Amazon Devices portfolio, including Alexa, Fire TV, Kindle, and much more.
This role is for someone who obsesses over details, thrives in ambiguity, and brings strong linguistic expertise paired with a builder’s mindset. You’ll work at the intersection of content, tech, and global customer experience, helping our German-speaking customers understand, enjoy and engage with our products.
Key job responsibilities
• Own end-to-end linguistic quality for German content across device software, marketing, and packaging.
• Develop, evolve, and evangelize style guides, terminology, and editorial standards for German.
• Provide guidance and feedback to external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure scalable, high-quality localization.
• Partner with localization program managers, localization & QA engineers, and development teams to ensure linguistic quality and launch readiness
• Proactively identify localization issues and customer-facing risks, engage with corporate and in-country partner teams to drive solutions, and escalate where needed.
• Analyze customer feedback, analytics, and team data to continually improve our German content experience.
• Contribute to cross-language editorial initiatives that improve consistency, efficiency, and impact at scale.
A day in the life
You’ll work closely with fellow editors, program managers, and software and QA engineers to shape the Amazon Devices customer experience in German. Your day may include localizing high-visibility content for Alexa or Fire TV, or marketing copy for the next product detail page on our website, leading vendor meetings, running linguistic quality reviews, updating the German style guide, or validating terminology for an unreleased device. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that thrives on quality, clarity, and customer obsession. We move quickly when it matters, operate at global scale, and continuously raise the bar for localized content that resonates with customers.
About the team
Every day, we invent on behalf of our customers, partners, and communities. We are focused on delivering a constellation of devices, services, and experiences that empower our customers to stay connected, safe, informed, productive, educated, and entertained. Our customers inspire us, and they’ve been at the heart of how we invent and evolve our products.
Our global team of about 40 editors, engineers, program managers, and QA experts collaborates across time zones and product lines to deliver experiences that feel natural to every customer: we don’t just translate, we craft the voice of Amazon Devices for each marketplace, helping shape how customers live, connect, and interact with technology in their own language.
