This apprenticeship combines hands‑on maintenance of complex automated equipment with structured learning in electrical and mechanical engineering. You’ll join the Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, ensuring vital machinery runs smoothly and safely.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Carry out proactive and preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
- Perform reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
- Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
- Modify and upgrade existing equipment to improve performance.
- Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Important Qualification Reminder
As part of the recruitment and enrolment process, candidates must provide proof of all required qualifications. Certificates or certified copies must be submitted by 17 July 2026. Failure to provide proof by the deadline will result in withdrawal of any conditional offer.
Basic Qualifications
- UK national, non‑UK national with right to work in the UK, or EU national with settled status and residency for 3 years prior to September 2026.
- Visa must enable legally working and residing in England for the entire duration of the programme (September 2030).
- Resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme.
- Not registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later.
- Minimum 18 years old before entering an Amazon building (September 2026).
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grades 9–4 / A‑C (or equivalent): Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- Statement of Comparability required for overseas qualifications, obtainable via UK ENIC.
- Position is a 36–48 month fixed‑term contract; candidates must not already hold a similar qualification at the same or higher level.
- Assumes little or no prior knowledge/experience in the occupation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs at Grades 9–4 / A‑C (or equivalent), including Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- Achieved or studying towards a T‑Level in an Engineering subject, or ‘A’ Levels with a bias towards science & technology, or another engineering subject.
