Amazon is seeking a Military & Veterans RME Mechatronics Apprentice to join our workforce in the North East of the UK on a fixed‑term contract starting September 2026. This apprenticeship focuses on developing a multi‑skilled maintenance technician with expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive and preventative maintenance on complex automated equipment.
- Perform reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
- Use the latest tools and equipment to maximise effectiveness.
- Make modifications and upgrades to existing machinery.
- Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Basic Qualifications
- UK national or eligible non‑UK national with right to work in the UK; 18 years or older by September 2026.
- Minimum 3 GCSEs at grades 9‑4/A‑C in Maths, English, and a science/technology subject.
- Not currently registered for a UK government‑funded course ending August 2026 or later.
- No prior qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level.
- Resident in the UK for the entire duration of the programme.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs at grades 9‑4/A‑C in Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
- Progressing towards or completed a T‑Level in an engineering subject or A‑Levels with a bias towards science & technology.
Important Information
The apprenticeship is a 36‑48 month fixed‑term contract. The candidate must provide proof of qualifications by 17 July 2026. Failure to do so will result in a withdrawal of any conditional offer.
