Managing millions of DNS queries, answering them in sub‑x ms, building software that deploys to thousands of hosts, achieving 100% durability. AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations—from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IOT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Route 53 team are looking for talented engineers who are motivated to solve complex challenges, yet are not constrained by “how things are usually done” and are willing to decompose and reinvent systems, processes, and tools.
  • If you possess that rare mix of depth in Operations, Networking, and Systems Engineering then we are waiting for your application.
  • Drive the design and implementation of new services.
  • Use your Linux and networking skills to troubleshoot, innovate fixes and workarounds.
  • Dive deep to root cause a customer issue.
  • Investigate why a metric is trending the wrong way.
  • Consult with the top engineers at Amazon.
  • Discuss radical new approaches to automate operational issues.
  • Implement automation to scale operational efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments.
  • Experience in systems administration (Linux or Windows).
  • Experience with automation, testing, or monitoring framework development.
  • Experience working with scripting languages like Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud computing technologies.
  • Experience in networking and troubleshooting.
  • Experience automating routine tasks.
