Senior Security Engineer, AWS Security in London

Key Responsibilities

• As a Senior Security Engineer, you will build and manage services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across Amazon's infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software development engineers, and other security engineers across multiple teams to develop innovative security solutions that protect the AWS cloud for all customers.
• Operate and continuously improve security programs and processes for personnel security, physical and logical accreditations, education, awareness, training, assurance, and cyber security.
• Interact with CISOs, CTOs, their staffs, and AWS senior leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers, data scientists, and engineers from non‐traditional backgrounds through one‐on‐one mentoring and thorough code reviews.

You will need to be a UK national and able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications

• Extensive experience performing security investigations, penetration testing, and/or incident response in large organizations.
• In‐depth understanding of security threats, hands‐on experience detecting and defending from cyber attacks, and experience using big data analytics and orchestration.
• Ability to develop code with a modern language such as Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, or Rust, and conduct security code reviews.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in security (tech lead, security architecture, technical component leadership), and experience coaching junior security engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS in a STEM field.
• Understanding of the Mitre ATT&CK framework and knowledge of host and network telemetry data.
• Awareness of current cyber security threats and actors, experience with data science and big data analytics, analytic development for endpoint and network security, and streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Kinesis).
• Strong sense of ownership and collaborative approach to influencing organizational change.
