Overview
We are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Technician to join our growing team within networking scaling. The position responsibilities involve delivering the hardware, configuration and fiber connectivity of interdependent scaling projects across several data center locations. The Network Technician will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution in association with Technical Program Managers.
Key responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of network solutions.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter-connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low to mid-level application interaction.
- Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Complete scaling activities within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
- Ability to travel within geographical work area is required, up to 20% travel outside traditional work area may be required possibly including international travel.

Basic Qualifications
- CCNA or equivalent level networking certification, or High school or equivalent diploma
- Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling
- Experience defining data center system-level architecture, specifying/documenting performance and equipment requirements to vendors and contractors, communicating conceptual designs, and creating/maintaining project documentation before, during and after construction
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of networking protocols, including HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP
- Experience in large-scale data center network implementations and support
- Experience with virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen), or experience in Linux and networking protocols including troubleshooting
