The AWS Infrastructure organization is looking for a results-oriented, BI focused capacity planning leader. Based in our Dublin offices, data centre capacity planning owns the supply plan for data centre power and space in response to the customer forecasts. We own initiatives to model and improve the utilisation of our power, cooling and space infrastructure in our data centres so that we are generating capacity at the lowest possible cost and delivering for customers. In this role you will work closely with demand planning, finance, construction, and software development and global programme management teams to deliver high quality and robust capacity planning processes and strategies, with favourable business outcomes. You will identify defects or waste in our planning processes, and drive new processes and automation steps to eliminate the defects and prevent them from recurring without posing risk to availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces.
- Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross‑functional and remote teams.
- Be responsible for end‑to‑end programme delivery of process improvement projects and data modelling exercises.
- Support continuous process improvement through leading workflow updates, documenting and implementing lessons learned and sharing knowledge across delivery teams to ensure EMEA‑wide efficiency improvements.
- Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics vs. commitment of your projects.
- Design and maintain BI dashboards for data centre capacity planning and utilisation.
- Develop predictive models for power, cooling and space requirements using QuickSight and Tableau.
- Create automated reporting systems for capacity vs. demand analysis.
- Lead cross‑functional data initiatives spanning infrastructure planning and business intelligence.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years in data analysis, BI or capacity planning roles.
- Proficiency in SQL, QuickSight, Tableau and data visualisation best practices.
- Experience with large‑scale infrastructure or critical environment planning.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data centre or cloud infrastructure experience.
- Advanced analytics or machine‑learning capabilities.
- Experience building executive‑level reporting and dashboards.
- Background in both technical infrastructure and business intelligence domains.
