Do you love entertainment, media, and technology? The Amazon Music legal team is looking for an Associate Corporate Counsel to join us in London to help support our growing UK and EU music business. Amazon Music is an immersive audio entertainment service that connects fans, artists, and creators through music, podcasts, audiobooks, artist merchandising and artist livestreams. We’re looking for someone who will enjoy working directly and independently with clients across the Amazon Music business and proactively collaborating with Amazon’s entertainment legal teams. This role would suit an innovative problem solver who loves learning about new areas and coming up with creative solutions, thrives on unique challenges and is interested in opportunities to work with AI tools.
You will be the primary legal support for several Amazon Music business clients in the UK and the EU, working closely together with US business and legal counterparts. You will directly advise our music business on a broad range of entertainment regulatory matters, including working as the lead lawyer on strategic projects. Next to this, you will provide day-to-day advice to clients on a wide range of legal areas, notably content licensing and product counselling for new business initiatives.
- Negotiating and drafting complex licensing, distribution and other commercial and industry agreements
- Providing strategic guidance on various regulatory matters (in particular, on compliance with new laws), licensing and new entertainment industry developments
- Closely cooperating internationally with business and legal stakeholders
- Some travel may be required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in legal work
- 3+ years post-qualification legal experience
- Excellent analytical and communication skills and the ability to act as a business partner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Speak, write, and read fluently in French, Spanish, German or Italian
- Experience in copyright/licensing, technology, or regulatory matters
- Ability to develop creative and pragmatic solutions to novel legal questions
- Good judgment in ambiguous and complex situations
- Ability to deliver results independently
